==Purpose of the Netiquette==

The netiquette should serve as a guideline to ensure that all players experience fair gameplay and have fun in World-of-Dungeons. Failure to comply with the netiquette can result in a penalty consisting of a loss of fame. Intentional breaches or repeated disregard for the netiquette can result in a ban.

For the official Terms and Conditions, please see [http://legal.world-of-dungeons.net/wod/spiel/impressum/agb.php?logged_in=no Terms and Condition]

==Common Courtesy==

Treat your fellow players with courtesy and respect.

Insults of race, religious or ethnic beliefs, heritage, as well as sexual orientation will not be tolerated.

Pornographic content including, but not limited to, images or texts will not be tolerated.

The intentional misrepresentation of another player in order to damage their reputation will be classed as libel and slander, and will not be tolerated.

If you have a case that you feel should be brought before the courts of World-of-Dungeons, please post it in the Court forum, but be aware that false accusations will also be punished.

==Additional rules in specific forums==

Certain forums may contain additional rules. Please check for these within the forum in question as a sticky post. In general, these rules are also to be treated as authorized by the netiquette.

Any questions regarding these rules can be cleared up with a message to the administration.

==Spam==

All types of spam and unsolicited mails, mass mails, and advertisement is unauthorized and will be dealt with accordingly.

==Scripts, bots, and other automated tools==

The usage of scripts, bots or other automated tools to access the World-of-Dungeons sites are strictly forbidden. These stress the performance and resources of the server unnecessarily.

These include, but are not limited to:
automated login scripts, auction scripts and market scripts.

The accounts linked to this type of infringement will be punished severely.

==Multi Accounts, Sitting, Farming==

Each player is allowed to have '''one''' account on '''each''' world. For example, you may have an account on Aberon, as well as a single account on another .net or .de world. This is not considered multi usage. Having 2 accounts on a single world is considered multi usage and is expressly forbidden in the Terms and Conditions.

Players wishing to have 2 heroes active at the same time may purchase a premium account at a fair price. Look under ''Account -> Premium Account'' for more information regarding the details and prices for your region.

Players may let other players delegate their matters in their absence through the use of the vacation mode. Please be reminded that no player may pass their account name and password to another player. This is also explained in detail in the Terms and Conditions of World-of-Dungeons.

Please remember that if you are accessing the game from a public or private network, you will need to enter your account name in the "users in an interconnected system" threads in the forum. Failure to comply with this rule will result in the flagging of the player's account as a multi, and will lead to a ban and/or severe penalty. See the rules regarding this in the forum ''World Of Dungeons -> Court -> (your active world) - users in an interconnected system''.

Farming is the usage of accounts with the intent to hoard gold and items to transfer to another player. Most farmers are multi accounts, which in itself is an offense. Farming will be sentenced with a severe penalty in game.

==Duel pushing==

Duel pushing is defined as using the duel functions as a fraudulent means of obtaining experience, fame, and gold. This is expressly forbidden and will be dealt with through loss of the fraudulently obtained gold, experience, and fame as well as an additional penalty.

Tampering duel outcomes through prior discussions also falls under penalty of duel pushing. Example:" I will let your juggler duel my priest in return for gold or items " would be a classic example of fixing a duel.

==Group storage and treasure vault theft==

It is forbidden to take items without returning them against the will of other group members.

The best way to avoid any misunderstandings is to explicitly post some basic rules in your group forum.

example:

Items that a player has brought with them to a group may also be taken by that player.
Hero unique items that a player leaving a group has found may usually be taken by that player, as that player can no longer find that item.

Group unique items that were found by the group, regardless of by which hero, should stay within the group in the event a member leaves the group.

Clan unique items that were found by the group, regardless of by which hero, should stay within the clan in the event the member leaves the clan.

Taking items and then leaving a group is punishable in the court forums. Each item you take is tracked by the server, and we are also capable of letting you know when and who found a particular item.

We encourage the players involved in this type of issue to cooperate with each other for a peaceful resolution of the problem before posting in the court forum.

==Accepting stolen goods==

The sale or trade of stolen items will be severely penalized. The player or players who have received stolen goods will be expected to return them to their rightful owners.

==Bug usage==

Bugs, exploits or mis-use of game mechanics to gain an advantage will be serverely dealt with.

If you find a Bug please report it immediately in the '''Bugs''' forum. Exceptionally urgent bugs can be mailed to '''bugs@world-of-dungeons.de'''

Using any of the above to your advantage will result in a penalty that can range from loss of EP/Gold/Fame, reduction of skills or attributes, or a ban.

==Rules for the Chat==

===Preface===

Before telling you the rules we want you to know what the chat is for.

We want to give you the chance to talk to other WoD players in real time, just for fun or to seek help.
So that the chat does not become chaotic (and therefore less useful) there are a few rules which all chat users should observe.

===Rules===

'''Players with ~, &, @ or % in front of the name are chat admins or mods. Always follow their instructions.'''

Please refrain from the use of font modifiers including, but not limited to: underlining, bold, and the usage of colors.

The WoD [[Netiquette]] applies to the chat in exactly the same way as it does in the game. Please take the time to read it before you start.

These are the most applicable rules for the chat:

====Behavior towards other users====

Every player wants to be treated in a polite and friendly manner. Please treat other players as you yourself want to be treated.

====Offenses====

Its forbidden to slander or insult other players, or to express yourself in a racist or otherwise discriminatory fashion.

====Advertisement, Flooding, Capital letters====

* Advertisement in WoD-Channels is forbidden. If you want to give another user a link to a website, or anything similar, please talk to the user in a private chat. Advertisement for private rooms in open rooms can lead to exclusion. The invite-function is also seen as a form of advertisement.

* Flooding is the repetition of a sentence, or anything else, in an annoying manner. This is forbidden.

* Chatting using only capital letters is the equivalent of shouting and is unwelcome.

*Any usage of bugs, exploits, or other use of IRC mechanics with malicious intent will be handled with severe punishments including, but not limited to: kicking and/or banning from the euirc network.

====Imitation====

Imitation of other players, moderators, judges, or administrators from the chat or the game is - for obvious reasons - forbidden.

====Nickname====

Every user should set their nickname to be the name of one of their heroes. When asked by a Chat Admin or Mod, a user or hero name must be provided.

Hurtful, slanderous, insulting, racist or discriminatory nicknames are not allowed. We are in wod-chat and not at a politicial demonstration or a party.

The nicknames should not be of excessive length. Please use a short name where possible. If you do not know how you can change your nickname, please ask a Chat Admin or Mod.

If you are not at the computer, you can suffix your nick with "-away" so everybody can see you are temporarily unavailable. This is a suggestion, not a rule.

====Offenses against these rules====

Anybody who offends against these rules can be kicked or banned from the channel or chat.

Generally the same punishments set out in [[Netiquette#Offenses against the Nettiquette|Offenses against the Nettiquette]] are also available to the Chat Admins or Mods. If you have any problems with other chat users please talk to the Chat Admins.

===Special rules for trading===

The chat should try not to spam away attempts to trade. Some short conversations may be inevitable, but please keep it to a minimum and respect the people's wish to trade, especially when there is a large volume of trading.

If you found a trade partner please click on his name in the user menu. Further negotiations can continue in the private chat.

Do not continuously ask about the same items. This will annoy other users and is not welcome (see Flooding above).

You may also abbreviate search/buy to [b] and offer/sell to [o].

'''Example:''' "[b] bolts" or "[o] arrows"

If you want to know how much an item is worth you can abbreviate price check to [pc].

This will both save you time and help others understand your needs.

Thank you :-)

==Overview==
Using the search function, you can look for items or heroes depending on which section you are searching from.

In order to perform a search, enter a few key words (at least 4 letters long each) that you wish to search for. Many items or heroes should then be displayed containing these words.

==Refined search==
In order to perform a refined search you can use a few search options.

===Keywords===

'''Tip:''' The symbols '''+''' and '''-''' will only work if the first character in the search field is a + or -

====OR====
The search function automatically assumes that you mean OR with the keywords you provide, for example if you search for: DARK SHADOW WOLF, it will search for any items containing DARK OR SHADOW OR WOLF.

====AND====
You can specify that the search find items containing ALL of the keywords you specified, for example<br>
---for heroes---<br>
Dark AND Blade <br>
or<br>
+Dark +Blade<br>
will then display only items containing both the words Dark and Blade keywords.

---for items---<br>
scroll AND weasel <br>
or<br>
+scroll +weasel<br>
will then display only items containing both the words scroll and weasel keywords.

====NOT====
You can also specify when to leave out items by using the '''-''' (Minus) symbol before the word, for example Dark -blade<br>
This will show all items containing the word scroll, but not containing the word weasel.

====Specific Phrases====
If you are looking for words in a specific order, you can set them in quotation marks:
'''''"'''scroll of wonder'''"''''' will show all items containing that exact phrase.
'''Tip:''' The symbols '''+''' and '''-''' will only work if the first character in the search field is a + or -

====OR====
The search function automatically assumes that you mean OR with the keywords you provide, for example if you search for: WORDONE WORDTWO WORDTHREE, it will search for any posts containing WORDONE OR WORDTWO OR WORDTHREE.

====AND====
You can specify that the search find posts containing ALL of the keywords you specified, for example<br>
Barbarian AND Mana AND Roundhouse<br>
or<br>
+Barbarian +Mana +Roundhouse<br>
will then display only posts containing all three keywords.

====NOT====
You can also specify when to leave out posts by using the '''-''' (Minus) symbol before the word, for example Barbarian -Mana<br>
This will show all posts containing the word Barbarians, but not containing the word Mana.

====Specific Phrases====
If you are looking for words in a specific order, you can set them in quotation marks:
'''''"'''Destroy orcs faster'''"''''' will show all posts containing that exact phrase.

==Overview==
At the bottom of each forum you can find the '''Search''' button. With this you can look for topics or content that you specify. This will allow you to find information quickly without having to wait for someone else to provide it for you.

In order to perform a search, enter a few key words (at least 4 letters long each) that you wish to search for. Many topics should then be displayed containing these words.
