Main class orientations
Short intro text
The Knifer
The knife fighter is a very variable character, which captivates through good defense and attacks. He can take the role of the Off-Tank and hold the back or the flank alone without problems. Knifers are also one of the best duelling classes in the game.

The Knifer
Description
The knife fighter concentrates mainly on his attack rolls, damage and defense. The lower damage is compensated by the higher AG and the more ST for HP.

Melee defense (Knife Combat): | 2 x Agility + Perception + 2 x Knife Combat |
Melee defense (Dodge Blow): | 2 x Dexterity + Agility + 2 x Dodge Blow |

Initiative roll: | 2 x Agility + Perception |
Advantages / Disadvantages

- good defense
- good attacks

- not very support-hungry
Disadvantages:
- No âweapons of mass destructionâ?
Suggested Races
Every class can be played with every racce, but some races are better suited for a Knifer than others.
Mag-Mor Elf
The best choice for a high Initiative. Good attack rolls but weak on Hitpoints.
- Bonus on the two main Attributes, Agility and Perception
- Initiative can be pushed further with the skills Silent Movement and Perfect Sight
- Melee attack bonus +1+20% of your heroes level
- Penalty on Hitpoints by a malus to constitution and -10% HP
Dinturan
The most offensive race without Hitpoint malus. But with a lower Initiative and a malus on magical defense.
- More HP due to bonus on constitution and the skill Toughness (2*skill rank)
- Very good melee attack bonus (+3+34% of your heroes level)
- Trollblood skill (Hitpoint regeneration +34% of skill rank)
- Less mana due to malus on intelligence and -10% Mana points
- Nasty spell defense malus -4-50% of your heroes level
Mountain-Dwarves
Also a good option for a knifer. Good attacks, enough hitpoints and very nice Supportskills.
- Bonus on constitution, hitpoints +5% and Toughness skill (2*skill rank)
- very nice Support skills with Trollblood, Mineralogy and Rune Magic
- Melee attack bonus +1+20% of you heroes level
- Good defense bonuses
- Low Mana due to a manapoint malus of -15%
- No skills to push Initiative
Attributes
Strength: | for damage and HP depending on tastes. |
Constitution: | for HP, disease defense and requirements. |
Intelligence: | for item requirements and for raising mana. Can be kept low since Mana is not an issue for knifers. |
Dexterity: | not needed, thus only for item requirements. |
Charisma: | for social defense and item requirements. Can be kept low. |
Agility: | Can't be high enough as the most important Attribute for a knifer. (Defense, Attacks, Initiative and secondary for damage) |
Perception: | also quite high, since this is the secondary attribute for the most important skills. |
Willpower: | for social defense and mana, similarly skilled to Intelligence. |
Note - if it costs less than primary roll attributes, you should raise the secondary ones 2 times, so the roll gain is the same.
Skills
Knife Combat | most important skill, raise anytime you can. |
Dodge Missile | Can be kept low due to high values in agility. Higher values are needed for duels against Archers though. |
Somersault | a good push-skill for the pre-round. Should be replaced with Leap Attack later on. |
Leap Attack | best pre-round skill. |
Blademaster | push knife combat even further. |
Ambush | very good debuff skill. Compulsory in duels. |
Burst of Speed | agility boost. |
Eagle-Eye | perception boost. |
Use Throwing Weapons | nice additional debuff with poisoned weapons. |
Reaction | for additional actions. |
Talents
The Harlequin is probably the most common specialization with knifers because of the really good Talent: Blademaster, which offers a good bonus on attack and damage. The disadvantage of this specialization is that both other talents don't offer anything useful.
All three skills of the Performer are useful. They offer bonuses on defense, hitpoints and attack. Especially for races which are low on hitpoints like the Elves, this should be the way to go.
The contortionist doesn't offer much for a knifer. Stick to one of the other two.
